"Toro Burgers: No Bull"

El Paso has a lot going for it: good weather, amazing Mexican food, low incidence of national disaster, and other things that I can't think of. What it hasn't had is a wide range of late-dining options that don't involve a window and ketchup packets. Enter Toro Burger Bar.
I will admit to being a burger snob. Not content with the usual beef-between-bread formula, I have longed for a great veggie burger or a creative take on the traditional sandwich. I was waiting for Toro without even knowing it.
I fell in love first with their blue crab burger. No wimpy crab cake, this burger is filled with lump crabmeat and coated in panko breadcrumbs. The chipotle aioli (kind of a mayo) was a great compliment. My partner opted for the Border Burger, a drippy, decadent mix of lean ground beef and spicy chorizo. Topped with cheese, this burger is definitely a once-in-a-blue moon treat, but one that is so worth the cholesterol. The veggie burger is delicious, too, as is the salmon burger. I have yet to make it all the way down the list, but I'm working on it.
The one annoying thing about Toro is that the sides we come to expect at burger joints are offered a la carte only. So expect to shell out another couple of dollars for fries or onion rings.
Toro Burger offers a fine selection of beer and wine to wash down your burgers, and the cool minimalist decor provides a soothing ambience.
And it's easy to continue your evening out, as Toro Burger Bar is conveniently located in Kern Place, right in the epicenter of El Paso's bustling nightlife. Or stop by after bar-hopping, because Toro Burger Bar is open until 2 AM on weekends!
